What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Administrator position at Hoffmaster Group Inc.?
Primary Purpose of the Role Responsible for all payroll-related processing activities; supports the maintenance and organization of human resources information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS); and drives consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Essential Job Duties
- Prepare and process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls and manual checks for all locations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports including general ledger.
- Collect, input, and verify payroll data in coordination with site HR teams.
- Coordinate efforts with HR and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data, including preparation and distribution of reports.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries.
- Process all garnishment and child support items, including initial requests, interrogatories, entry into HRIS, and termination notification.
- Process and reconcile payroll taxes in coordination with the Dayforce Tax Team, including maintaining accounts in multiple state and local jurisdictions.
- Monitor all applicable laws and regulations to payroll and taxes to ensure the company stays in compliance.
- Prepare, process, and ensure the accuracy of all year-end payroll requirements.
- Request payment for various vendors, including various tax jurisdictions, Motus, union dues, Workers Comp, etc.
- Manage monthly reporting to meet legal requirements, including various state Workers Compensation, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), United Way, etc.
- Other duties as assigned. Required Skills / Abilities
- Payroll Processing Experience
- Knowledge of Payroll Taxation
- Knowledge of Garnishment procedures
- Knowledge of FLSA and Labor laws
- Competencies : integrity, customer focus, communication, negotiation skills, self- motivated, flexibility and managing change, and teamwork
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional certifications
