Position Title Adjunct Faculty, Medieval History Position Number 999972 Position Category School / Division Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-Social Science Department Full-Time or Part-Time Part-Time Description Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Science and Rabinowitz Honors College are pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct Assistant Professor position in the Department of History at Hofstra University. We welcome candidates with expertise in any aspect of medieval history, including—but not restricted to—the Medieval Mediterranean, Global Middle Ages, medieval histories of gender, health and disease, and material history. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in research as well as an exceptionally strong, imaginative, commitment to undergraduate education.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- The teaching load will be 14 credits over the course of the 2025-2026 academic year : this includes two 4-credit discussion sections of a team-taught RHC course entitled “Culture and Expression” (Fall 2025) and two 3-credit courses in the Department of history of the candidate’s own design (Spring 2026).
