In this role, your primary responsibility will be to represent clients in legal proceedings, advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, and conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
Your duties will also include preparing and drafting legal documents, interpreting laws, rulings and regulations, and presenting facts in writing and verbally to argue the clients’ case.
Litigation Associate Responsibilities & Duties
· Conduct legal research to stay updated on current laws and to support cases
· Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and appeals
· Assist senior attorneys in the preparation for trials and hearings
· Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys
· Represent clients in court, before government agencies
· Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to determine their impact on cases
· Communicate with clients, judges, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
· Manage and organize case files and client records
· Prepare legal correspondence and maintain thorough case files
· Attend continuing legal education (CLE) programs to enhance knowledge and maintain professional competence
· Study and interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses
· Prepare and draft legal documents
· Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case
· Conduct legal research and analysis of legal problems
Qualifications
· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
· Admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction where the firm operates
· 3 years of experience in litigation or immigration preferred, but not required
· Excellent research and writing skills
· Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
· Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
· Strong public speaking and presentation skills
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
· Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
· Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
· Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple priorities
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $138,946.00 - $152,229.00 per year
