Job Summary
The Load Planner will load plans for a group of 85 plus auto hauling drivers ensuring superior customer service from all spectrums.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in training and maintaining a safety focused group of Auto Hauling drivers.
- Manually and electronically routes all shipments to optimize efficiencies while prioritizing service with customer demands.
- Handles incoming phone calls from drivers and customers to mitigate issues and resolve problems.
- Manages and prioritizes critical shipments to ensure customer service, while maintaining on-time performance, and minimizing expense.
- Understands drivers hours to maximize utilization and production while still maintaining established customer service and delivery metrics.
- Books and builds to balance and capacity to ensure adequate coverage.
- Communicates in a professional and helpful manner with customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelors degree preferred.
- 3 years experience in the transportation industry. LTL experience preferred.
- HOS, DOT regulations and driver welfare knowledge required.
- Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
