ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Media Operations Lead to establish, oversee and manage all aspects of our corporation’s media relations operations. This role will create the company’s media operations framework to include leading media monitoring and analysis, supporting the planning and execution of complex media engagements, distributing press releases, developing executive reports, managing media lists, shaping media strategies and more.
The role will also provide media relations support for significant corporate news events and serve as a deputy media spokesperson across a range of company priorities. This role will also manage agency, vendors, tools, and subscriptions to ensure best-in-class corporate media operations.
A successful candidate will provide critical business intelligence to top leaders, shape company communications strategies and support flawless execution of key corporate communications activities.
What You’ll Accomplish
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism
Required Work Experience: 4 years of experience in communications, PR or media relations
Travel Requirements: Up to 10% semi-regular travel is required to support brand campaigns and collaborate with regional teams

What You’ll Accomplish
- Establish Media Operations: Develop the company’s media operations approach, including through establishing the most effective approach to media planning, monitoring, reporting and analysis to best support the business.
- Media Coverage Analysis and Message Shaping: Provide regular reports to internal stakeholders on media coverage and campaign effectiveness. Identify key themes in media coverage and provide actionable recommendations to improve company strategy and messaging.
- Extend Communications Reach: Support planning and execution company announcements and media engagement, and extend the reach of company news through media list management, newswire management and distribution, email distribution, web updates and more.
- Support Media Engagement: Support significant corporate news events and lead logistics planning for executive interviews, including for broadcast, radio and podcast engagements with complex AV needs.
- Serve as Media Spokesperson: Serve as a deputy media spokesperson across a range of company priorities and issues - and coordinate across the business to develop company statements, positions, and responses to queries. Develop and manage relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to ensure ongoing positive media engagement.
- Collaborate across the business and function: Partner with leadership to ensure media operations deliver value to business leaders and align with company objectives. Partner across functions and disciplines to ensure stakeholder alignment with company messaging.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
