Description
Holding Hands is seeking an HR Coordinator who is passionate about our mission to provide quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Floortime, and mental health services to new regions and markets in the United States. As an HR Coordinator, you will manage daily HR functions such as keeping track of employee records and supporting the hiring and retention process. You will also perform tasks such as assisting with employee onboarding, HR training, performance evaluations, performance development, and employee termination. In addition, this position will focus on overall employee satisfaction and retention as the company grows and scales. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources and general administrative responsibilities. This individual should be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations.
Familiarity with HR software and tools is also required. Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization. This role reports to the HR manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to internal and external HR inquiries and provide assistance.
- Redirect HR-related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met.
- Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, etc.).
- Assist supervisors in performance management procedures.
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars for new hires and ongoing needs
- Perform orientations, onboard new hires, and update records with new hire information.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
- Support employee development, including performance development plans.
- Support the employee termination process as needed.
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, such as collecting employee feedback.
- Support other functions as assigned.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, business partners, and senior leadership in gathering and suggesting important requirements for success while also providing regular project status updates.
- Stay apprised of Human Resource federal and state regulations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and seminars, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Business alignment: Articulate and champion the best HR practices.
- Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate across Operations, Compliance, Clinical, Training, and Marketing among various other teams to scope, define, prioritize, and roll out procedures and policies.
- Inspire with the Holding Hands mission: Represent the brand and mission of Holding Hands internally with local team members, and externally with conferences and events as appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience as an HR Coordinator or relevant human resources position
- Must have prior experience with HR practices and employment laws in California, including compliance with CA wage and hour laws, leave regulations (CFRA, PDL, FMLA), and other state-specific labor requirements.
- Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems such as ADP.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; additional education in Human Resource Management will be a plus
