A hotel maintenance worker is responsible for performing repairs and upkeep on a hotel building's systems and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and general building components, ensuring the property remains safe and functional for guests and staff by conducting routine inspections, responding to maintenance requests, and completing minor repairs as needed; they may also assist with larger renovation projects when required. Key responsibilities may include:
- Preventative maintenance:Regularly inspecting and servicing systems like HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, fire alarms, and elevator operations to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Responding to maintenance requests:Addressing guest and staff reports of issues like leaky faucets, broken light switches, malfunctioning appliances, and door malfunctions promptly.
- Minor repairs:Performing basic fixes like replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, patching small holes in walls, adjusting door hardware, and fixing minor plumbing leaks.
- General upkeep:Cleaning and maintaining common areas, grounds, and exterior building features, including painting, landscaping, and trash removal.
- Equipment maintenance:Checking and maintaining tools, cleaning supplies, and other maintenance equipment.
- Safety inspections:Conducting regular safety checks on fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and other safety equipment.
- Collaboration with other departments:Coordinating with housekeeping staff to address room maintenance issues and working with the front desk to inform guests about maintenance updates.
