Job Overview
The Overnight Security Guard/Shuttle Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises during overnight hours, as well as providing shuttle services for employees or guests. This dual role requires a vigilant and reliable individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Security Duties:
- Monitor and patrol the premises to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
- Conduct regular security checks of buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas.
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Maintain a detailed log of activities, incidents, and observations during shifts.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations, addressing any violations appropriately.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and prepare reports as required.
Shuttle Driver Duties:
- Operate the shuttle vehicle safely and efficiently to transport employees and guests to designated locations.
- Ensure the shuttle is clean, well-maintained, and fueled for use.
- Adhere to established routes and schedules while accommodating special requests as needed.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with all passengers, providing assistance when required.
- Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in security or as a shuttle driver preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Must be physically capable of performing patrols and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- The position requires working overnight shifts, which may include weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to remain alert and vigilant during shifts.
- May involve outdoor patrolling in various weather conditions.
