Position: Night Auditor
Reports To: Front Office Manager
Department: Front Office
Hours: 10pm - 6am or 7am (Overnight, Full time, weekend availability)
Job Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all hotel financial transactions are accurately reconciled, guest inquiries are addressed, and the property remains secure and operational during the overnight shift.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Duties
Balance daily financial transactions, including room charges, cash receipts, and credit card settlements.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, such as the Daily Revenue Report.
Reconcile discrepancies in accounts and resolve issues with the support of management.
Guest Services
Check guests in and out efficiently and courteously.
Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests, ensuring their satisfaction.
Process reservations and cancellations accurately.
Operational Tasks
Perform end-of-day audits and reset systems for the next day.
Monitor property security, including ensuring doors are locked and guests feel safe.
Assist in setting up breakfast or other preparations for the morning shift, if needed.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate logs of incidents, maintenance issues, and guest interactions.
Manage wake-up calls and ensure guest requests are documented and fulfilled.
Other Duties
Assist other departments as needed, such as housekeeping or maintenance emergencies.
Ensure compliance with brand standards, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in hospitality or accounting is a plus.
Experience: Previous hotel or accounting experience preferred but not required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in hotel management software, basic accounting, and Microsoft Office.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities.
Availability: Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Standing for extended periods.
Light lifting (e.g., moving luggage or setting up breakfast areas).
Ability to remain alert and focused during late hours.
