Job Description:
As the Catering Services Manager at the Holiday Inn Staunton Conference Center, you will be responsible for managing all facets of our catering and meeting services. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing events to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for our guests. You will supervise a team of servers and support staff and collaborate with our culinary team to deliver exceptional food and service. You will work closely with clients to detail events to ensure client satisfaction. You will also proactively sell our meeting space and catering to existing and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of all meetings and catering events, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and special requests, ensuring personalized service.
- Prepare Banquet Event Orders to accurately communicate needs to Banquet and Culinary team members, and other hotel leaders.
- Supervise, train, and motivate banquet staff to maintain a high level of performance and customer service.
- Work closely with the culinary team to create customized menus and ensure the quality of food presentation.
- Manage banquet setups, service, and breakdowns in compliance with company standards and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of banquet supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to promote repeat business and referrals.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning for the banquet department.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly.
- Uphold the Holiday Inn brand standards and always ensure a positive and professional image of the Conference Center.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Banquet Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including catering trends and menu planning.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and event management.
- Catering Sales experience preferred.
