A hotel house-person may work independently or in a team-style environment. Essential duties of the role typically include removing soiled bedclothes, vacuuming the room and hallways, cleaning carpets with a large machine carpet cleaner and cleaning hotel common areas. A house-person may also fold laundry.
The position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, the ability to multitask and take direction and working efficiently in a sometimes fast-paced role. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Education or training in janitorial services or even communication and interpersonal relationships can be beneficial.
