What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at Holiday Inn?
Holiday Inn Lake City is looking for an observant, experienced security officer to maintain a safe environment. In this position, you will patrol, stand guard, and monitor the area, taking immediate action if problematic situations arise. You must always be keenly aware of your surroundings and attuned to any suspicious or unlawful behavior.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Protect, watch over, and secure necessary spaces and/or assets
- Exhibit a strong physical and authoritative presence that will help deter criminal activity
- Conduct frequent security checks by patrolling perimeter and grounds
- Remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening
- Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner
- Help, defend, and protect those in need
- Monitor and control gate/door access for vehicles, workers, etc.
- Secure spaces and ensure safety for those inside (lock doors, close windows, etc.)
- Set alarms as needed
- Act as an escort to employees and visitors
- Sound alarms and/or call for outside assistance when needed in emergencies(police, fire, ambulance care, etc.)
- Write, maintain, and present detailed reports, noting any damages, theft, and/or other irregular activity
- Follow all state and company-enforced laws and regulations
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass state background check
- Relevant security experience
- Able to work a variety of different shifts (including graveyard and/or extended hours)
- Physically and mentally fit; self-defense skills
- Ethical, confident and dependable
