Patient Service Representative

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service and ensuring smooth operations at Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry (https://holisticwellness.clinic/). The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of patient services, and the ability to navigate various healthcare systems. Applicants with Medical clinic experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
• Coordinate new patient appointments, appointment changes, checking insurance eligibility.
• Assist healthcare providers with ketamine treatment protocols when needed
• Perform vital sign measurements and record patient information
• Support the medical team in delivering high-quality patient care
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
• Provide information about services, procedures, and insurance coverage to patients.
• Assist with medical billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
• Assist with patient related tasks, obtaining medical records, pharmacy calls, lab orders, etc.
• Handle phone calls professionally, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with excellent phone etiquette.
• Collaborate with other administrative staff and providers to facilitate patient care.
• Support the overall management of the medical office environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in psychiatry/mental health or other medical clinics is preferred.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
• Familiarity with basic life support procedures
• Proficiency in using EHR systems; experience with IntakeQ is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of outpatient medical clinic operations and procedures is beneficial.
• A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
