Description
The SVP, Accounting will support Holladay’s mission of enriching lives through investment and service by leading the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations and implementation of effective policies and procedures. This critical, highly visible senior leader plays a crucial role in the company’s financial strategy and directs accounting, and all systems and processes related to accounting and financial control. The position’s home office can be located in Nashville, South Bend, Portage, Indianapolis, or Chicago office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Financial Reporting and Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards (GAAP/IFRS).

Oversee preparation of financial statements and reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Coordinate tax return/compilation/audit preparation and provide necessary information for external auditors.
Accounting Operations

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury management.

Oversee the budgeting process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.

Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Participate in long-term financial planning and strategic planning to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
Real Estate Specific Functions

Maintain knowledge and understanding of real estate fund structure to ensure all financial reporting requirements are met.

Manage capital contributions, distributions, and investor allocations.
Leadership

Fosters a culture of leadership by promoting collaboration, teamwork, trust, and empowerment across the organization.

Serve as a member of the organizational leadership team to develop, shape, and execute organizational mission, vision, and strategy
Qualifications
-
Requires 10 years progressive accounting experience, at least 5 years of leadership experience.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another relevant field required. MBA or MACC strongly preferred.

Experience in commercial real estate is preferred.

Knowledge of, and experience with, real estate private equity funds preferred, but not required.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.

Experience with real estate and/or fund management software such as Yardi, MRI, Argus, or other similar financial system a plus.

Financial experience with multi-family, hotels, industrial development a plus.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation:
The SVP, Accounting compensation will be commensurate with experience depending on experience and qualifications. This range is subject to local, state and regional dynamics and maybe adjusted up or down depending on market conditions.

Travel to different office locations will be required.
Supervisory Responsibility:

The Chief Accounting Officer provides leadership and management to all accounting associates.
Promotional Opportunity:
Associates with more than twelve months of service may request consideration to transfer to other jobs as vacancies become available and will be considered along with other applicants. Management retains the discretion to make exceptions to the policy.
