What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Intern position at HOLLAND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS?
Reports to: HR Specialist
Job Summary: This position will support the Holland Board of Public Works (HBPW) Human Resources department.
Essential Duties/ Projects
- Assist in maintaining, auditing and updating personnel files and Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Assist in recruiting efforts, including contacting applicants, scheduling interviews and testing, and participating in interviews.
- Help coordinate and attend company events.
- Support HR in various projects.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus
- Junior or Senior status preferred
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Ability to sit in one position for extended periods of time.
- Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to working on multiple projects requiring attention to detail and dealing with the concerns of employees.
- Normal office environment with minimum discomfort due to noise, dirt and dust.
