Bus Service Technician

Job Summary: The Bus Service Technician will be a part of the Holland Bus Company Service Department and be responsible for repairing customer buss, and assist when need in prepping new and used buss for delivery. The work will be performed at one location in Holland Michigan. Job consists of but not limited to performing maintenance and repair of all types of School and Commercial buss, and complex equipment related to the bus industry.

Reports to: Service Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

Repair and maintain the specialized equipment found in School and Commercial buss, and the add on equipment.

Install camera systems, 2-way radios, and other electronic, components.

Trace and identify wiring, diagnose as needed.

Install and diagnose various School, Commercial bus interior/exterior components including 12v and 110v wiring, vehicle electronics, electrical harnesses, cables, switch panels, circuit boards, lights, trim, door handles, engine, transmission, and other vehicle systems.

Inspects, checks, and evaluates School, and commercial Bus and equipment for common maintenance problems, monitors fluid levels, replaces components according to industry standards, regulations, and protocols.

Determines and makes major improvements or modifications to new or used school or commercial buss in accordance to customer needs but staying within manufactures specifications; modifies, designs and fabricates special purpose equipment.

Participates in ordering parts and maintaining positive relationships with parts department.

Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of work area and company equipment supplied for use.

Other duties may be assigned based on needs of the company and workload.

Qualifications/Skills:

Required:

Certificate from college or technical school: or a minimum of 6 months related experience and /or training.

Must be a team player, enthusiastic, with a positive outlook and attitude.

Must have valid drivers license, pass background check, pass standard drug test and DOT physical.

Must obtain CDL within the probationary period.

Familiar with use of PC based computers including Microsoft Office Suite.

Must own tools needed to perform essential responsibilities and duties described above.

Preferred:

Michigan or ASE certification(s) - Must have one of these to interview

College degree or vocational certificate in the automotive industry

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
