What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Events Assistant position at Holland, City of (MI)?
This individual will market and facilitate community events for the Downtown Holland, the Holland Farmers Market, and Holland Parks and Recreation. The assistant receives supervision and assignments from the Recreation Program Coordinator and Downtown Marketing Coordinator; however, the assistant is encouraged to develop innovative ideas to promote and grow the organization. This position will typically work 24 hours per week. •Plan, organize, and implement marketing campaigns for various events and programs including social media campaigns.
•Provide on-site content at programs and events for social media accounts.
•Attending community events for on-site marketing activations.
•Coordinate and run on-site supervision for the Wednesday Market Kids Activities, the Thursday Night Street Performer Series, and Friday Night Summer Concert Series, along with other events as assigned.
•Recruit and execute sponsorships for Holland Recreation through a variety of methods.
•Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and the public.
•Assist in website management.
•Other duties as assigned.
•High School diploma or GED.
•Some marketing and graphic design and photography experience preferred.
•One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
•Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently and take initiative, while gathering direction and input from supervisors.
•Physical ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions
•Working outside with periodic exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions.
•Exposure to dust, dirt, rain, noise, and chemicals.
