Recreation Operations Coordinator – Aquatics

Under general supervision, the Aquatics Intern will assist in the operation of Bouws Pool Outdoor Aquatic Facility. This will include programming, open swim, rentals and after-hours general maintenance. 
 
Start: Mid-May 2025
 
End Date: Mid-August 2025
 
Schedule: Flexible Hours (Minimum of 30 hours a week)
 
Pay Rate: $16 an hour
 Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety and cleanliness at all facilities
• Oversee employees, who include, Supervisors, Desk Staff, and Lifeguards.
• Attend and (at times) conduct management meetings.
• Attend Supervisor meetings
• Share ideas/techniques to better the organization. 
• Help maintain appropriate water chemistry and pump room operation standards with the help of maintenance staff.
• Handle disciplinary issues quickly and efficiently.
• Perform maintenance inspections.
• Assist with scheduling.
• Assist with employee evaluations.
• Communicate with pool patrons.
• Conduct safety audits on their staff and facilities.
• Assist in conflict resolution with employees, patrons, and clients.

Job Qualifications:

• Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from an accredited college/university required, Recreation, sport management, or related field preferred.
• One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. 
• CPR Certified 
• Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.

Working Conditions:

• Working outside with periodic exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, rain, noise, and chemicals.

Salary : $16
