Serves as the key contact for staff, leadership and physician customer. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations such as, but not limited to, scheduling staff, productivity, annual reviews, corrective action and department competencies. Provides clinical leadership and direction to promote exceptional patient care and related documentation compliance through the development and support of standardized policies and processes. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and facilitates accreditation efforts . Develops clinical depth among staff throughout the department . Participates in Special Projects to develop leadership skills and to promote staff participation and morale . Direct clinical care is expected and variable, ranging from 50/50 to 75/25 clinical to management ratio. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate the the age of the patients served in their area.

Minimum Experience and Education Required:
  • Associate's degree in Radiology Sciences based on National Certification requirements.
  • Advanced clinical certification eligible, completed, or pending.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider
  • National Certification for at least one modality of responsibility: RT(R)(AART), CNMT, or RDCS(AE)
  • 5 years progressive clinical responsibility in at least one modality of responsibility; including quality initiatives and day-to-day operations
  • Fundamental understanding of health care billing and coding
  • Experience with clinical documentation and image management systems
  • Fundamental understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements, including knowledge of current clinical and regulatory issues related to modalities of responsibility.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree or higher.
  • Experience with project management, process improvement activities, and staffing leadership
  • Experience with basic budgetary/financial management activities including reports for budgeting and productivity
  • Previous experience as a clinical coordinator, clinical lead, or management experience
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience in resolving customer concerns
  • Previous experience dealing with change management situations
This position is supervising X-Ray and Patient Care Assistants.
Employment Type:Part Time, 48 hours every two weeks
Shift: Varied hours, typically three 8 hour shifts

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or tech-school
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist required; must complete registry requirements within one year of graduation.
  • Current BLS for the Health Care Provider (or completed within 60 days of hire)
Serves as the primary clinical contact and plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the assigned modalities in accordance with overall department objectives and under the general direction and guidance of the direct supervisor.
  • Demonstrates communication skills necessary for effective problem -solving, conflict resolution and facilitating group interactions to achieve desired outcomes as evidenced by observation and staff feedback.
  • Oversees the pertinent imaging protocols and processes.
  • Based on projected needs and expectations defined by the supervisor, assures development, analyzes trends and participates in continuous process improvement activities.
  • Contributes to the collective knowledge base of the Radiology staff and serves as a facility and community resource by maintaining and sharing an up-to-date understanding of department area of expertise as evidenced by observation and feedback.
  • Oversees the performance of equipment maintenance and serves as the key contact for equipment repair and replacement activities.
Supervises and facilitates development of all staff in respective disciplines.
  • Conducts interviews by defining skills needed, analyzing application and resumes, and developing behavioral questions.
  • Conducts and evaluates interview in timely fashion, as evidenced by documentation and observation.
  • Ensures compliance with mandatory activities (orientation, reorientation, compliance etc.)
  • Recognizes the need, and initiates reward and recognition or implements the progressive discipline process as indicated and as evidenced by documentation, observation, and team feedback.
  • Performs employee Initial and Annual Performance Evaluation process in the appropriate timeframe 100% of the time.
  • Provides ongoing individual coaching/counseling as evidenced by documentation, observation and team feedback.
  • Oversees the staffing to assure smooth delivery of patient care, anticipates job vacancies, coordinates and adjusts staffing and scheduling.
  • Monitors and manages staff productivity to meet targets as evaluated by observation , documentation and feedback.
Provides direct patient care including screening, imaging, documentation, care coordination and communication.
  • Performs ordered exams as evidenced by documentation, observation and team feedback.
  • Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of information systems, equipment and protocols.
  • Consults with Radiologists and requesting providers for exam clarification and modification as needed.
  • Adheres to department policy regarding timeframe, positioning, shielding and documentation as evidenced by documentation and observation.
Serves as the primary clinical contact and plans, directs, and coordinates quality assurance, quality improvement and customer service activities under the general direction and guidance of the direct supervisor.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisor by informing/notifying of pertinent issues (e.g. program accomplishments, staffing and program issues, etc.) and reports actions planned as evidenced by observation and team feedback.
  • Fosters two-way communication with staff relating to program issues, policy and procedures, regulatory requirements and health care trends.
  • Conducts effective staff meetings which promote dialog and problem -solving as evidenced by observation and feedback.
  • Communicates effectively with medical staff, patients and family members as evidenced by observation and staff feedback
Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned by supervisor (e.g. compliance with hospital policies, DNV/ACR/ ICAEL and other regulatory entities). Represents the department in operating unit and system initiatives. Participates quality and process improvement activities.
  • Participates in the maintenance/enforcement of operating unit policies and regulatory requirements. This will be evaluated by documentation, observation and feedback.
  • Completes all requested documentation (e.g. time cards, reports etc.) in defined timeframes as evidenced by documentation, observation and feedback.
  • Participates in the maintenance/enforcement of billing and coding policies, requirements, and processes.
  • Assists in preparation of yearly budget.
