This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the travel team.Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions : Manage the performance of the firm’s dedicated travel management company as well as lodging, air, and ground transportation suppliers.Monitor SLAs of firm’s suppliers.Benchmark the firm’s performance and policies against others in the industry.Effective negotiation of all firm travel program-related contracts and agreements (trials / corporate housing, room blocks, travel management company, hotel, airlines, ground transportation, etc.)Work with the firm’s travel management company to develop and analyze air travel manifests.Continuously monitor and optimize the firm’s travel policy for compliance and cost-saving opportunities.Stay current on travel industry trends and best practices, continuously looking for process improvements that could enhance the traveler experience.Successfully make business cases for changes and recommendations on travel program improvements or changes.Research and seek new technology (online booking tools, apps, and other programs) that could enhance the firm’s global travel platform and improve the traveler experience.Manage the daily functions of the travel team at the firm, including the management and use of unused tickets, organizing and promoting training for the firm’s online booking tool, serving as the initial contact for traveler issue escalations and out-of-policy bookings, acting as the liaison between the firm’s travel suppliers and the firm’s travelers, communicating travel updates and advisories to the firm as appropriate, and regularly monitoring KPIs of suppliers.Partner with key stakeholders in other departments, including accounting, IT, and safety and security, to ensure data feeds are operational and accurate.Special project and duties as assigned.Required Skills : Proficient with MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel and the ability to review and analyze travel-related data.Impeccable written and oral communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.Executive presence with strong presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.Strong project management and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to proactively follow up as issues arise.Required Qualifications & Education : Bachelor’s degree.8 years of relevant business travel management experience.2 years of people leadership experience.Expert-level familiarity with group travel management.Possess a deep understanding of hotel contracts and negotiation, management of rooming lists and invoicing.Demonstrated experience working with hotel contacts through the group booking process.Preferred Qualifications & Education : Advanced degree a plus.Experience in a legal or professional services environment.Physical Requirements : Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.Benefits : Our goal is to promote a work environment in which individuals have access to the resources they need to be at their best both professionally and personally, which includes resources that encourage individuals to focus on their health and well-being.
