Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Bankruptcy Petition Preparer and Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing bankruptcy petitions, managing case files, and providing administrative support to our Attorneys. This role requires a strong understanding of bankruptcy law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. The Case Manager plays a crucial role in managing cases effectively, ensuring that clients receive the necessary support and resources. The Case Manager will work closely with clients, and Attorneys, to facilitate communication and streamline case processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients, providing guidance and support throughout the legal process.
- Collect, organize and manage client documents and case files, maintaining an efficient filing system for easy access to information..
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status and address any concerns.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings.
- Assist Attorneys with case preparation and court filings..
- Collaborate with Attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure compliance with bankruptcy rules and procedures.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent: associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law or legal assistance.
- Proficiency in bankruptcy software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to gather detailed information effectively.
- Strong understanding of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
