Primary Purpose: Provide leadership and coordination to provide an aligned and articulated instructional program at the assigned campus. Monitor student performance and address individual student needs through data analysis, targeted interventions, and referrals for special programs. Facilitate effective systems on campus including but not limited to testing, master scheduling, and campus improvement.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Master’s degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate in a core content area
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
Deep knowledge of core content area and research-based instructional strategies/practices
Ability to evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
Capacity to lead core content area teaching teams for the purpose of improving instruction and student achievement
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Ability to interpret data
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years successful teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Curriculum and Instruction
- Work cooperatively with directors, coordinators, instructional coaches, and campus principal in the supervision of core subject instructional programs.
- Assist with the implementation of Professional Learning Communities on campus.
- Assist in the development of instructional materials and campus plans for student interventions.
- Assist with the purchasing of teacher resources to support instruction.
- Assist in the process to select and purchase supplemental materials to help support students on state assessments.
Professional Development
- Assist teachers with the development of effective classroom management and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with campus and district administration to determine campus staff development needs.
- Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
- Regularly conduct instructional walks and provide feedback to teachers in order to improve tier 1 instruction.
- Assist with the development and review of high quality lesson plans.
Data
- Monitor student performance and student growth on state and local assessments.
- Develop targeted plans to address the campus student performance on state and local assessments.
- Facilitate data meetings with teams in order to develop targeted plans for tiered interventions.
- Coordinate MTSS academic responsibilities including data collection, documentation, facilitation of SIT meetings, and entry of STAAR accommodations for SIT students.
- Gather documentation, including classroom observations, for Special Education and speech referrals, and upload documents as required by district procedure.
- Collaboratively support teachers with plans for academic MTSS.
- Collaboratively conduct LPAC/blue form meetings.
Program Management
- Campus Testing Coordinator - oversee testing programs for the assigned campus.
- Serve as the campus instructional materials contact for designated subjects, with district support.
- Organize, facilitate, and monitor HB 1416 requirements.
- Assist with the CNA and CIP process and plan for the assigned campus.
- Attend weekly campus leadership meetings to provide insight and support with instructional programs.
- Assist with the development of the campus master schedule.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of after-school events.
Other
- Attend district meetings as appropriate for the job.
- Assist in communicating information to parent and community members about school programs.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
- Assist with general campus operations, including student supervision/duty assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
