Our small, high-energy optometry practice is looking for an Optometric Assistant to join our close-knit team. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional patient care in a welcoming environment.
About the Role:
We're seeking a vibrant, friendly, and detail-oriented individual with strong empathy and outstanding customer service skills. The ability to connect with patients is essential, as we strive to ensure everyone receives the best possible care and experience in our office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing phone calls and scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Preparing and organizing patient charts before examinations.
- Conducting comprehensive patient work-ups, including taking detailed medical, ocular, and family health histories.
- Performing preliminary tests on patients using various diagnostic equipment.
- Assisting our doctors with patient care, follow-up correspondence, and referral coordination.
- Managing contact lens inventory, including orders and returns.
- Conducting contact lens insertion and removal training for patients.
- Performing other administrative and clinical tasks as needed to support the team.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- A genuine enthusiasm for helping people and providing top-notch customer service.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
- Preferred (But Not Required): Prior experience in patient care, using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, and familiarity with medical billing.

Schedule:
Our clinic is open and busy during the following hours:
- Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Please note: Availability during these hours, including Saturdays, is required for this position).
