What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Hollingsworth, LLC?

We're looking for an Operations Manager with high standards and solid experience managing warehouse operations or 3PL. You will manage the purchasing, expediting, shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions and employees of this site. You'll partner with the Plant Manager to maintain operational excellence and a positive work environment.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Warehouse Operations Manager

  • Create an ownership mentality.
  • Ensure the team understands and is committed to following policies, and procedures and achieving desired performance.
  • Develop, train, motivate, and appreciate employees.
  • Own and monitor the quality and quantity of work performed -- and encourage staff to use quality tools and processes to resolve problems.
  • Work with other departments to improve processes and information exchange.
  • Propose improvements to management.
  • Create a culture of learning and continuous improvement, including active participation in company-provided training and coaching your team members.
  • Maintain any statistical data required to monitor processes.
  • Document processes and events as needed.
  • Ensure that there is appropriate coverage to complete the work.
  • Ensure that staff has the necessary tools to perform their job functions.
  • Effectively manage direct and indirect expenses.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
RELATED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or supply chain OR 5-10 years working in third-party logistics
  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience and advocacy for 6S
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening
  • Strong conflict resolution and coordination skills
  • Desire to effectively lead and develop team members
  • Ability to proficiently operate a computer, specifically Microsoft Office suite and SAP
