The Heavy Civil Superintendent will oversee and manage all day-to-day operations of heavy civil construction projects. This role involves supervising earthwork crews, operating heavy equipment, delegating tasks, and ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of all work performed. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in heavy civil construction, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of heavy civil projects, including earthwork, grading, excavation, and utility installation. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead earthwork crews, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring team members have the resources, tools, and training to perform their work efficiently and safely. Foster a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
- Equipment Operation:
Operate various pieces of heavy machinery, including dozers, excavators, graders, and loaders, as necessary. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operated in compliance with safety regulations.
- Quality Control:
Monitor the quality of work on the job site, ensuring that work is done to specification and meets industry standards. Perform regular site inspections and conduct on-site quality assurance.
- Safety Compliance:
Enforce company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct regular safety meetings, ensure the use of proper PPE, and promptly address any safety concerns or hazards.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
Develop and manage daily and weekly work schedules for crews, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and manpower. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project progress, labor hours, and equipment usage. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on project status, including any challenges or delays.
- Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve any issues that arise on the job site, including personnel issues, equipment malfunctions, or project delays. Work with management to develop solutions and keep the project on track.
- Customer and Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on the job site. Communicate project progress, changes, and challenges effectively and professionally.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
