Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating a client-centered activity program.
Education:
Associates Degree Preferred
High school diploma or GED
Must be 21 years of age
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designing life skill programs, leisure activities, and special programs to include but not limited to, client birthday parties, holiday parties and activities in the cottages.
- Providing group and individual activities.
- Responsible for ensuring that no less than 2 off-campus outings are prepared each week
- Booking external entertainment, outings, transport, etc.
- Responsible for implementing at least 2 on campus activities each week per cottage.
- Building a rapport with individuals and talking with them about what activities they may enjoy.
- Plans, implements, and supervises coordinated activities for the clients within the structure of the cottage, keeping in mind the age, individual needs, and developmental levels of each client.
- Coordinates with essential team members to prepare, manage, and communicate weekly run sheets for the Residential Team.
- Controls costs, manages the activities budget, and logs all receipts.
- Manages the care and maintenance of all activity supplies and equipment and maintains activity areas.
- Prepares monthly activities calendar.
- Follows all supervision requirements of clients as noted in client assessment and support plan.
- Maintains professional objectivity and self-discipline in conducting job responsibilities so that each client’s needs remain the primary focus.
- Maintains familiarity with emergency and crisis intervention procedures and implements them in a calm and expedient manner.
- Keeps accurate records and writes thorough and objective reports including, but not limited to, incident reports, and daily log entries.
- Must maintain HIPPA Compliance standards.
- Assists with special projects as related to the Agency.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Two (2) years’ experience in human service-related field.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with the vulnerable at-risk youth.
- High level of patience and empathy driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent documentation and financial/mathematical skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
