What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Technician I/II/III- Pump Stations position at Holly Springs?
This position would perform tasks in the maintenance and repair of sewer pump stations. Work includes cleaning, repair, inspections, and preventative maintenance. Work also involves special projects and related tasks to improve system performance. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Pump Stations Supervisor and is inspected for compliance with established standards. Starting salary $41,803.36-$70,473.51 (pay grade C/D/E) depending on relevant work experience. Strong candidates will be considered for employment at above starting salary range. Work hours are business hours with evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Serve as a team member of pump stations technicians that must perform all tasks efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to operate a database to check work orders and data entry. Must complete inspection checklists.
Perform work cleaning pump stations:
Routine inspections of all components at the pump station sites
Washing pumps, floats, and wells
Removing grease and debris
Checking electrical connections and SCADA alarms
Assisting maintenance in major repair work
Any other work as needed by the pump station supervisor
Perform pump and equipment maintenance required to keep equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs.
Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all appropriate times.
Performing vehicle and equipment pre/post trip inspections; monitoring and replenishing fluids; performing basic corrective repairs.
Ability to be proficient in the operation of Combination Jet/Vacuum truck or have the ability to learn within 6 months.
Communicating work-related needs and issues to supervisor by providing updates regarding the status of open work orders and construction, maintenance, and/or facility tasks.
Must be able to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs of force frequently, and 20 lbs of force constantly. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred experience of equipment operation/driving or specialized maintenance experience in a utility setting.
Able to obtain a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement within six months to a year from employment and a satisfactory driving record
Level II technicians are required to have a Collections 1 or Collections 2 certification and a valid NC Class A CDL.
Level III technicians are required to have a Collections 3 certification and a valid NC Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement.
Must complete job-related and/or safety training based on assignment, such as (but not limited to) lock out/tag out, confined space entry, ladder safety, IMSA signs and markings level II certification, work zone safety, respirator, and emergency evacuation training. All certifications must be obtained within 2 years upon hire.
