HOLMAN RANCH
Holman Ranch, a privately owned historic property in Carmel Valley, California, sits approximately 12 miles inland from the Pacific Coast and is one of the only 100% Estate Vineyard Wineries in the Carmel Valley Appellation (AVA). The estate wines of Holman Ranch include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Rose of Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sparkling (or Brut) Rose, all of which are sustainably grown, hand harvested, and hand sorted. Holman Ranch also produces a 100% Estate Grown, Tuscan-style extra virgin olive oil.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tasting Room Estate Sales Associate (the “Position”) is a key position within the Holman Ranch Estate Winery and Vineyard responsible for Tasting Room sales activities and hospitality for our wine and olive oil businesses. This position is considered a part time position with opportunity to grow. Required hours for this position are Thursday-Monday 2PM-6PM. Estimating a total of 25 hours a week.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The Tasting Room Sales Associate (the “Position”) is classified as Exempt and paid on an hourly basis. The pay rate will be $18-20 /Hour, accompanied by wine club commission and a bonus plan. Additionally, this Position may earn monthly “prize” incentives and tips.
Commission Plan
· Individual Club Sign-up Sales – The club sign-up commission rate is 10% of the first wine club release shipment for individual new member sign-ups. The commission is paid at each club release, typically two (2) times per year

To perform the Position job successfully, an individual must be at least 21 years of age and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

B. Preferred Requirements
1. Working knowledge of and appreciation for fine wine
2. Knowledge of sales training tools and techniques conducive to wine sales.
3. Knowledge of sales process, channels, and clubs to promote sales.
4. Tasting Room or similar hospitality experience.
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Corksy and Tock
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Direct to Consumer (“DTC”) Sales
1. Tasting Room
i. Drive sales, volumes, and margins for Holman Ranch. Responsible for promoting, and/or selling consumer-direct programs, special events, off-site events, wine club education programs, vineyard & winery tours, and other opportunities available to promote wine and olive oil sales, volumes, and margins.
ii. Continually review Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) for sales using daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual benchmarks.
iii. Execute best-in-class wine club, tour and tasting experiences, and tasting room events.
iv. Work with the Tasting Room Manager, CEO, Owners, and Marketing on efforts to increase exposure, sales, margins, and profitability.
v. Responsible for assisting with tasting room inventory of wine and non-wine items.
vi. Grow and retain Wine Club memberships
2. Estate Tours Tastings
The goal of the Position is to offer our guests a VIP experience onsite Holman Ranch Estate Vineyard and Winery by offering private vineyard tours, tastings and additional onsite experiences that are catered directly to the client.
i. Welcomes guests at Hacienda during tastings hours.
ii. Offers immersive and private full vineyard tours and tastings on Holman Ranch Estate. Driving an all-terrain vehicle around property while educating the guests on the history, vineyards and winemaking practice.
iii. Execute best-in-class wine tasting experience with knowledge of the wine industry as a whole.
iv. Drives sales and wine club sign ups by offering the guests VIP hospitality.
v. Communicates with Staff to ensure guests’ needs are met and problems are resolved timely and professionally.
vi. Completes all other duties as requested by management.
