What are the responsibilities and job description for the GM - SITECH position at HOLT Group?
Emerging technology in machine/engine monitoring and control has created a business opportunity for HOLT CAT. Referred to as SITECH, this opportunity is the integration of existing and emerging machine/engine technology including SITECH with existing products and services HOLT offers, all delivered through the deep customer relationships that HOLT has cultivated over the years.
The General Manager is responsible for creating the strategy and formation of a SITECH division at HOLT CAT. Once the division is formed, this position will be responsible for ongoing strategic planning and operations in alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and values. As such, this individual evaluates, allocates and directs all human, physical and financial resources for the SITECH Division. This person is responsible for developing, monitoring, promoting and implementing the SITECH Division’s long-term strategic plan. Also included are providing visionary and inspirational leadership, developing SITECH’s human resources, managing capital resources, balancing stakeholder needs, overseeing daily operations and collaborative team building. The person in this position is expected to collaborate with all stakeholders groups, to practices on-going, self-development initiatives as well as demonstrate and champion alignment with the core business values in their daily work actions. As a leader of a division of HOLT CAT, this person shares in a spirit of collaboration to ensure the continued stability and growth of SITECH as well as other Holt Companies.
- Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s)
- Create and manage SITECH’s core processes associated with the value creation between HOLT and the customer.
- Integrate and manage centralized operations to reduce operating expenses and improve customer service.
- Monitor, Promote and Align SITECH’s daily business practices with the company’s core values, mission and vision, so that they are effectively and consistently put into action.
- Develop, Monitor, Promote and Implement a long-term collaborative strategic plan for the SITECH Division in order to maintain stability and growth for the Division and satisfy the needs of all stakeholder groups.
- Select, Evaluate and Develop the human resources of SITECH in order to ensure competent, committed staff to satisfy customer needs.
- Evaluate, Allocate and Control the capital resources (e.g. facilities, product inventories) of SITECH in order to optimize RONAE and meet the balanced needs of all stakeholder groups.
- Establish, Monitor, Communicate and Integrate daily operational practices (structure, systems, processes) for SITECH in order to provide legendary customer service and create value for HOLT and its customers.

It includes; managing, motivating and developing professional and operational staff members on a day-to-day basis; providing directive skills and methods-including structuring modification of behaviors; providing supportive skills and methods - including listening, asking open-ended questions and ensuring reinforcement of behaviors (e.g. role clarification, showing how, establishing timelines, praising, coaching, listening, asking for input, disclosing, team building, delegating, collaboration).
4.) Problem Solving Expertise - This area focuses on the rational approach to the processes involved in identifying and defining problems, generating and selecting solution strategies, and reducing performance gaps through implementation and problem prevention. It includes both theoretical, complex, longer-term problem solving and operational, shorter term problem solving methodologies as well as effective decision making skills. (e.g. problem identification, risk analysis, solution generation, prioritization, goal setting, conflict resolution, data gathering, problem prevention)
5.) Technical Expertise - This area focuses on the specific technical expertise required for this job position. This includes knowledge and experience with the following: Caterpillar and SITECH products, product support services and programs, the industries we serve, management information services, company policies and procedures, inventory management, sales techniques, financial, credit and accounting principles and values based leadership tools and processes.
