Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing moderate manufacturing weld fabrications of various products and components. The MFG Welder 2 demonstrates proficiency as a welder in the following established procedures and guidelines; understanding drawings and blueprints, adhere to the standard procedures in the use of equipment when setting up parts, tack welding, stitch welding, and seal welding. Able to work independently or as a member of a team to provide welding services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals.
Mid-level position – Generally has two to four years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills and obtained or currently obtaining welding certifications in the GMAW and FCAW welding process in the 1-3 G/F positions. The MFG Welder 2 has moderate knowledge of standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures in multiple manufacturing areas; is indirectly supervised and self-starting.

Essential Functions
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures in setting up, tack/stitch weld subassemblies, and full product utilizing various tools and fixtures
- Assist in development new fabrication weldment procedures, utilizing drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols while referencing current standard work
- Performs moderate skills to interpret blueprints, drawings, and all welding processes through weld symbols and call outs
- Performs moderate skills to complete work orders, fabrication, and welding on product and their components
- Ensures all weldments are in compliance with specific welding codes, procedures, and quality standards
- Performs moderate oxy/acetylene torch and plasma cutting, and welding of multiple different welding processes
- Desires to challenge self with an abundance mindset to achieve highest levels of performance and quality
- Performs and completes tasks with some supervision
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; (e.g., ProTech Welder Training Paths)
- Performs in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with job tasks and maintains consistency between work shifts and work areas
- Transports material in area or between areas utilizing overhead crane, jibs, carts, magnets and other devices
- Works as a member of the manufacturing team to provide high quality products that satisfy the customer (internal and external) and achieves manufacturing goals
- Maintains the performance of equipment and work area through regular operator checks and maintenance resulting in operational equipment and work areas in good, clean, and orderly condition (Operator Performed Maintenance (OPM and 5S)
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Communicate variances to established processes for an area or product
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
- Support training and development of new and existing team members
- Works safely at all time and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Demonstrated knowledge of weld equipment and dimensional tools, including their uses, and maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of specification and drawing interpretations; e.g. drawings, blueprints and computers and the use of equipment needed to fabricate and perform in the task at hand
- Demonstrated knowledge with current computer software, related hardware
- Established good work habits, accuracy and exceptional attention to detail and quality of work and awareness
- Demonstrated technical skills as a skilled qualified welder and fabricator to effectively perform assigned welding tasks
- Ability to read, write, and understand information
- Adaptable to changing schedules and exhibits time management skills
- Ability to follow logical troubleshooting and standard operating procedures when performing welding fabrication
- Ability to develop thinking and problem-solving skills to learn and understand Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong work ethic being dependable, reliable and honest with demonstrated integrity
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in fabrication and welding
- A self-starter and self-motivated with an exceptional safety record
- Must complete Values Based Leadership to include:
- Conflict Resolution
- SL II for Supervisors
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of two years’ of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required; four or more years preferred
- Basic Welding Certifications in the GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding process in the 1-3 G/F positions preferred

- Valid Driver’s license required
- Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching
- Constant movement and use of limbs, hands, this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment
- May be required to work in confined workspaces, awkward positions and high places
- Frequently lifts and moves materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE)
- Regularly works indoors around moving equipment and exposed to flashes of light from welding, and loud noise levels; may be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water and high-speed rotating equipment
- Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or on elevated surfaces
- Possible exposure to minor burns and cuts – must be reported for proper treatment
