What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Analyst position at HOLTEC INTERNATIONAL?
Holtec International, a turnkey supplier of technologies for the nuclear and fossil power industries, is seeking to add an entry-level mechanical/civil/structural analyst to its Engineering Mechanics Group. The analyst would be called upon to analyze metallic, reinforced concrete and soil-subgrade supported structures.
Typical analyses include:
- Static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses using ANSYS
- Modeling and analyses of structural impacts and target response using LS-DYNA
- Simulation of the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in water
- Static and dynamic analyses of large reinforce concrete structures
- Soil-structure analyses with freestanding and/or anchored structures
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must possess a BSE in mechanical/civil/structural engineering with a GPA > 3.0
- Prior industrial experience is not mandatory; however, the applicant must have excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanics
- Should possess excellent technical writing skills
DESIRED SKILLS
- Academic or industrial experience in the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS or LS-DYNA or GT STRUDL
- Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI and AISC
- Excellent communication skills
