We are currently seeking an organized and motivated Registration Specialist to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
As a Registration Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients entering our clinic. You will assist patients with the registration process, gather necessary documentation, and provide excellent customer service. You will play an integral role in ensuring that our office runs smoothly, and our patients receive timely and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, welcoming experience.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality and treat patients with respect.
- Check patients in/out, verify and update patient information, including demographics, insurance details, and guarantor.
- Ensure all registration paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Answer patient questions related to registration, insurance, and clinic services.
- Maintain computerized appointment schedule, schedule appointments, and advise medical staff and patients of scheduling changes.
- Collect patient co-pays and ensure proper billing information is recorded.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, refer caller to appropriate individual, take complete messages and route accordingly.
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing medical records. Scans printed patient information and places into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate, friendly demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and medical office software (e.g., EHR/EMR).
- Knowledge of insurance verification and patient billing processes is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
