As a Nursing Department Scheduler, you will work under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The Nursing Department Scheduler is responsible for scheduling employees in the nursing department to meet facility, state and federal requirements, as well as adjust the schedule as PTO and call-ins occur, keep the updated schedule posted, communicate any open shifts with staff, post an accurate daily schedule.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 years of age.
- At least one year of scheduling experience, building, and maintaining schedules for more than 25 employees. Healthcare scheduling preferred.
- Ability to be accurate, concise, organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, and to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
- Administrative/Microsoft Office product knowledge
Requirements:
- Report to the Director of Nursing on a daily basis regarding scheduling needs.

- Internal Candidates: No write-ups or attendance issues in the last six months. Must not have any current job probations; Previous reviews must be within the expectations of the facility.
Essential Job Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develops and posts work schedules for the nursing department at least two weeks prior to schedule start.
- Works with department managers to get copies of their monthly schedules. This position is not responsible for making or maintaining other department schedules but rather the coordination of schedules to ensure consistent staffing.
- Update and maintain an accurate daily nursing staff schedule and posts appropriately.
- Coordinates with CNA Supervisor on scheduling as needed.
- May be asked to assist the CNA supervisor in coordinating schedules and times for training and in-services for CNA meetings and tracking of in-service hours.
- Contacts replacement personnel for the nursing department and modifies schedule when required.
- Maintains a current listing of employee contact numbers to ensure ease of contact while filling shifts.
- Coordinates time off requests with the Director of Nursing
- Notifies Director of Nursing of staffing situations
- Maintains a record of employees that miss shifts and produces reports.
- Coordinates with the Director of Nursing to secure contract labor when required
- Willingness to learn and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Must maintain and safeguard entrusted confidential information and all other resident rights.
