Role Description
This is a full-time onsite role as a Property Owners Association Attorney located in the Memorial City area of Houston, TX. As a Property Owners Association Attorney, you will be responsible for advising and representing property owners associations in a variety of legal matters including but not limited to : POA-specific compliance, deed restriction enforcement, assessment collection, related litigation and court appearances, foreclosure, relations with governmental entities, bankruptcy claims, contracts, governance, and dispute resolution. You will also provide legal guidance and support to the Board of Directors and Management, and periodically attend Association meetings.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school;
- Licensed to practice law in Texas with good standing with the State Bar;
- Minimum of 5 years of serious experience in Texas property owners association law; or minimum of 10 years of Texas law practice with strong experience in litigation and client interaction, with an excellent ability to learn quickly and understand statutory authority.
- Strong understanding of the Texas Property Code, relevant POA law, and other applicable laws and regulations;
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, writing, and communication skills;
- Experience representing POA clients in court;
- Experience attending board meetings and annual member meetings;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with fellow employees;
- Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage a high volume of POA-related matters and deadlines effectively;
- Ability to interact in a friendly and confident manner with people of various backgrounds and demographics.
