Job Description - Food Runner
A Food Runner on the Holy Cow team will facilitate collaboration between our kitchen and wait staff. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.
Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. A perfect candidate should be available to work various shifts, including weekends.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Experience as a food runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant helpful
- High School degree is an asset
- Previous customer service experience helpful.
- Familiarity with a point of sale system helpful.
- Previous restaurant experience helpful but not required.
Food Runner Responsibilities
- A Food runners job priority is to deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately.
- Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by placing appropriate tableware, napkins and serve water if time allows.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards.
- Check in with customers and bring additional items or refill water, as needed.
- Pre-buss dirty dishes and utensils.
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
Food Runner Side Work includes:
- Sweeping store front daily upon arrival.
- Polishing flatware, cups and glasses.
- Filling to-go sauces as needed by kitchen.
- Empty bathroom and service station garbage at end of Day
Compensation: Wages range from $9.00- 11.00 per hour depending on experience plus tips.
