Holy Cross is looking to hire a dynamic Director of Strategy, Growth and Development to lead and facilitate business development initiatives across all organizational segments in accordance with the mission and core values of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Position Overview:

  • Will support strategy and other business development with the primary responsibility to help Holy Cross Health balance and expand its portfolio in both existing, emerging, and new services and markets.
  • Apply experience and knowledge in a variety of distinct health segments and emerging trends and innovations in areas including, but not limited to, senior care, PACE, Medical groups, ambulatory care, urgent care and hospital settings in order to provide advisory and process support to our health segments and Health Service Area (HSA) teams.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and financial resource for negotiations, valuations, assessments and other activities required to close major Trinity Health transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, joint operating companies, management agreements and other new venture development opportunities. Transaction support occurs across the continuum and includes acute, non-hospital and post-acute service providers.

Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Minimum Education, Licensure/Certification Required:

Must possess a broad and deep knowledge of healthcare industry trends, strategies, economics and governance elements and interdependencies as normally obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health Administration or a related field. Master’s degree in Business or Health Administration, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.

Five to ten (5-10) years of management experience in local, regional, or national health systems, management consulting, investment banking and/or private equity/venture capital with a primary focus on growth and strategy, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and/or potential (e.g., increasingly promoted within current organization and/or led substantial initiatives in current role) in a health care organization, management consulting, or investment banking firm.
  • Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Experience leading matrix and/or project-based teams with targeted outcomes achieved.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
  • Demonstrated success in thought leadership and the ability to develop and encourage new ideas to achieve successful results.
  • Demonstrated success working in highly matrixed organizations; ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage ambiguity within a complex and fluid environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent Trinity Health to both internal and external organizations/stakeholders with the necessary level of respect, confidence and credibility.
  • Must have strong quantitative analysis & critical reasoning skills; ability to apply a broad range of frameworks, approaches, and methodologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating term sheets/letters of intent, definitive agreements and completing regulatory approval documents (e.g. Hart Scot Rodino filings). Experience managing due diligence processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, supported by the ability to write a compelling business case and project both financial and operational return on investment.
  • Strong leadership skills with capacity to both independently drive results, effectively influence others, and mentor/develop other team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into operational initiatives.
  • Experience with demonstrated success in creating successful outcomes working with various constituents in potentially competitive situations.
  • Demonstrated quantitative financial and operational modeling skills and ability to turn data into actionable information whether conducting or overseeing the analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain and maintain credibility and trust with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex information to C-suite, board level and public audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in working collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Must have ability to effectively organize and manage a significant and complex project load to produce results.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational and time-management skills, along with ethical and effective handling of sensitive, confidential and proprietary information.
  • Must be able to balance multiple high priority initiatives simultaneously that impact the System and Health Service Areas.
  • Must be able to travel to the various Holy Cross Health sites approximately 20% of the time.

Reports to: Reporting to the President & CEO, Mid- Atlantic Region

Pay Range: $70.11-$105.17

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
