What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant position at Holy Cross Medical Center?
Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance to Federal and State guidelines, assists in providing treatment to patients with disabilities, injuries and diseases through the use of, but not limited to massage, exercise and effective properties of water, heat and electricity. Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operating from specific and definite direction and instructions. Decisions are of routine or critical nature, made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. Is responsible for delivering patient care within institutional guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of an Associate in Applied Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant License in the State of New Mexico required.
• Current CPR is required.
• 1-3 years clinical experience in rehabilitation, or physical therapy, in an acute care facility and/or out-patient therapy setting preferred.
