Position Summary
The Communications and Marketing Manager is a key brand ambassador and is responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external marketing and communication strategies to enhance the school's brand visibility, increase market share, and drive engagement. This role combines creative storytelling, strategic marketing, and strong communication skills to build and maintain a positive public image for the school. The ideal candidate will contribute to the school’s advancement efforts by creating and distributing digital media, print media, and general messaging that promotes the school's values, engages stakeholders, and recognizes accomplishments. The Communications and Marketing Manager will manage external communication channels including social media platforms, school websites, and media relations by creating and writing for all platforms.
This is a twelve-month, exempt position with expectations of working additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support all school needs.
The Communications and Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of two years’ professional-level experience in marketing and communications
- Outstanding writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Website CMS
- Graphic design and photography skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights)
- Understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices; ability to analyze metrics and derive insights for optimization
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Create graphics, photos, video, and written content for websites, social media accounts, newsletters, publications, articles, and other materials.
- Manage the maintenance of website and social media accounts.
- Assist in the design of new logos for branding use.
- Archive logos, photos, videos, and graphical content created for marketing purposes.
- Attend school activities and events to provide communications and marketing coverage.
- Develop and manage the content calendar and ensure consistent posting.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Research industry and market trends and identify original and compelling communications.
- Keep all communications and marketing materials and content relevant, current, and accurate, including but not limited to website and social media accounts.
- Contribute creative and marketing collateral to support admissions, advancement, academics, athletics, and other efforts.
- Create mass email communications, online registration forms, posters, brochures, social media posts, and other communications and marketing materials.
- Represent the Holy Cross brand while being an enthusiastic school ambassador.
- Assist with event production and coordination for school-wide events and activities, as necessary.
- Communicate with media outlets as required.
- In the absence of the Director, serve as the secondary contact for all Holy Cross School communications and marketing needs, as necessary.
- Perform other duties, as necessary.

Compensation
