Position Overview:
Provides life skills training designed to assist youth in gaining self-sufficiency and independence. Will maintain a case load of up to 10 youth who may reside with a host home provider or staff supportive housing. Will provide each youth with four hours each week of life skills instruction by way of one-on-one interactions, classroom settings and community activities. Will be required to participate in family team meetings, facilitate house meetings and administer pre- and post-testing. Will be required to travel, work shifts and complete logging and other reports as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Will provide each youth with four hours per week of life skills instruction by way of one-on one interaction, classroom settings and community activities. Seventy-five percent (75%) of instruction time per month must be practical hands-on instruction as opposed to classroom, worksheet, or online instruction. In addition, 10% of the instruction time must be done in a community setting. Will be expected to find community resources that can assist with enhancing the life skill development of youth placed in ILP.
- Attend family team meetings with the foster care worker, youth, and supportive adults.
- Prepare for and facilitate house meetings and life skills curriculum groups.
- Will be required to work shifts at the ILP staff supportive housing program.
- Will be required to complete pre/post-test and three/six-month post discharge follow up.
- Will work with youth in making progress towards goals outlined in their ILP and case service plan.
- Will be required to complete daily logging and weekly ILP curriculum reports.
- Will carry a caseload of up to 10 youth in ILP.
- Will be expected to travel.
- Will be required to work with youth placed with host home providers.
- Will be expected to attend team meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Implements Mi-TEAM practices in daily activities including teaming, engagement, assessment and mentoring.
- Will be provided with training opportunities to encourage development and support of professional growth.
- Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing, supporting, and articulating the Agency’s treatment philosophy.
- Performs other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individual’s capabilities as assigned by one’s supervisor.

Minimum of an associate degree in a human services field of study \
- OR
- Minimum 60 semester hours
- OR
- 95-quarter hours toward human services field of study. Preferred bachelor’s degree in a human services field of study or a minimum of 90 semester hours in a human services field of study and 1 year directly related experience
- OR
- 60 semester hours and 2 years directly related experience.
- Able to meet State “Good Moral Character” guidelines.
- Valid and current Driver’s License
