Kennel Attendant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in maintaining a safe and clean environment for pets. This role involves interacting with various animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting in daily operations of the kennel.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures.
• Support dog training sessions as needed, reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Provide companionship and attention to pets to reduce stress and anxiety.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any incidents.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of pet care.

Experience

• Previous experience in veterinary settings, pet care facilities, or similar environments is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including dog handling and animal restraint.
• Experience in pet grooming or basic training is a plus.
• A strong understanding of animal behavior and welfare principles is beneficial.
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
