School Counselor - Head Start
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team using evidence-based promotion, prevention, and intervention strategies to foster the growth of children with developmental, behavioral, and/or social-emotional concerns. Collaborate with local mental health agencies to facilitate appropriate and effective referrals across multiple systems. Provide support groups and training to parents and teaching staff.
Education and Licensure Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required.
- License required within 6 months of hire. (LMHC, LCSW, LICSW)
Experience
- Must have professional experience delivering mental health services to children age birth through five and those who care for them within a natural setting.
Qualities and Skills
- Bilingual preferred.

- Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 119, Section 51A the School Counselor is a mandated reporter and held to the statutory reporting requirements.
Starting Pay: $31.13
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
