What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Manager position at Holzer Health System?
Works under the supervision of the CNO and Director of Acute Care Services. Responsible for the overall management of day-day planning, direction and evaluation of the staff on specified patient units with direct supervisory responsibility/accountability for the patient care provided on a 24-hour basis. Contributes to meeting the mission and goals of Holzer Health System as well as meeting all requirements of corporate compliance, regulatory, licensure, and accrediting agencies. Consistently accepts and effectively fulfills additional responsibilities as assigned by the CNO and/or Director of Acute Care Services.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
• BSN required either nursing or healthcare related or actively enrolled in BSN program with completion date being no later than 6 months after accepting position. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Holds current licensure in the State of Ohio as RN. Functions within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• CPR required, and ACLS recommended.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership and clinical ability required.
