As the HR Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department by assisting with payroll processing, recruitment efforts, and the onboarding of new employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- Assist the recruiter in sourcing and identifying potential candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and networking.
- Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Maintain and update the applicant tracking system (ATS) with candidate information and recruitment activities.
- Assist in the preparation and posting of job advertisements.
- Support the recruiter in organizing and attending job fairs and recruitment events.
- Serve as a backup to the payroll/benefits coordinator, assisting with payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.
- Help ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including data entry and verification of employee hours, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, providing accurate and timely information.
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information.
- Travel between branches as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE HR SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in recruitment, payroll, or benefits administration is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HR software and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
