About the Role

The Staff Accountant- Treasury is responsible for performing basic accounting functions, including posting various types of cash related journal entries, account reconciliations, and other Treasury functions. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly cashflow forecast and other ad-hoc reports as well as other accounting functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Treasury functions include but are not limited to:

• Approving and sending payment information to the bank
• Depositing and maintaining proper documentation for physical checks received.
• Initiating manual wires and physical check payments
• Monitoring daily cash balance across multiple bank accounts and transferring cash as needed
• Responding to any treasury related inquiries
• Initiating and ordering corporate credit cards for employees
• Updating and analyzing weekly cashflow forecast
• Working with Accounting Manager to prepare cashflow forecast to actual variance explanation for CFO and Controller on weekly basis.
• Working directly with the financial institutions to resolve any banking issues
• Assisting in opening and closing bank accounts
• Working with Shared Services to ensure accurate and timely submission of payments and pulls
• Supporting daily, monthly, and year-end closing process of accounting
• Ensuring proper adherence to internal controls
• Supporting any initiatives or projects, as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned

Basic accounting function include but are not limited to:

• Performing daily bank reconciliation
• Booking and reconciling cash and credit card transactions in the accounting system
• Maintaining audit appropriate supporting document for all cash transactions
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Providing monthly balance sheet flux explanations
• Providing input on improvement of accounting process or internal controls
• Supporting annual audit requests

• Ability to identify and resolve problems timely and gather and analyze information skillfully
• Technical skill of accounting process in multiple functional areas
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to identify issues and discuss with supervisor for timely resolution
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Able to look for ways to improve accounting processes and communicate to the supervisor in a thoughtful manner
• Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time throughout the day

Qualifications:

• Experience in Treasury Management, Cash Accounting, or Customer Cash Application experience preferred.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
• 2 year work experience in general ledger close role and prior experience working with outside auditors is a plus.
• Must have strong work ethics during high volume periods, including month end, quarter end and year end close, and the budgeting season.
• Must be able to balance workloads and multi-task while remaining cognizant of multiple reporting deadlines.
• Exceptional personal initiative and desire to drive consistent improvement.
• Experience in multi-company, multi-location environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills using Formulas and Pivot Tables.
• Knowledge and familiarity of Wells Fargo and NetSuite Accounting System is preferred.
