Job Summary:
Home Place Pastures is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Sanitation Manager to oversee key aspects of production operations, including sanitation, quality assurance, and various phases of the processing lifecycle. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with industry regulations, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation
- Oversee and manage the sanitation team to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant production environment. This position will require hands-on sanitation work for the foreseeable future.
- Ensure work is done according to company Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP).
- Complete necessary paperwork and communicate any issues to Plant Manager
Quality Assurance
- Implement regular quality control procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine inspections and testing of products, materials, and equipment to maintain high-quality output.
- Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Harvesting & Butchering
- Use established company proficiency standards to ensure proper handling, butchering, and labeling techniques during the harvesting and butchering phases.
- Ensure that company core principles of Safety, Quality, and Productivity are being followed by our floor teams at all times
- Complete regular quality checks on harvest floor to ensure carcass are meeting company HACCP plan and sanitation requirements before entering chilling cooler.
Packaging & Labeling
- Oversee packaging and labeling processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to brand and regulatory standards.
- Conduct audits to verify labeling information aligns with product specifications.
Inventory/Cycle Counting
- Manage inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy and ensure physical inventory levels align with inventory system numbers.
- Reconcile discrepancies and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure production lots, harvest lots , and inventory are accurate at all times. Reconcile discrepancies and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.

Carcass Testing
- Complete regular food safety tests for carcasses and finished products, and ensure samples and labeled and packed appropriately before sending to lab.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- 3 years of experience in quality assurance, sanitation, or food production management.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, including USDA and HACCP guidelines.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and quality control systems.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM, with flexibility as needed.
