Home Surplus is a retail warehouse superstore for cabinets, doors, and more, featuring in-stock products, expert design, and reliable service at value prices. Home Surplus aspires to be the first choice of contractors and consumers in cabinets, countertops, doors, and windows. After operating as a single location for over 40 years, Home Surplus has expanded to 5 stores in NJ and MD in recent years as it grows into a national footprint.
Position
Delivery Drivers drive large or medium box trucks to deliver kitchen cabinets, vanities, doors and other products directly to customers. Most, but not all, products are boxed. Drivers report to the Delivery Lead. Responsibilities include:
- Unloading product at the customers’ door/curb.
- Communicating with customers and dispatch.
- Providing outstanding customer experiences with a consistently great attitude.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts.
- 5 days per week. The stores are open Monday-Saturday, and employees may be required to work Saturdays on a rotating basis.
- Overtime.
Minimum Requirements
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Clean driving record.
- 1 year of delivery driving experience.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Able to unload trucks
- Reliable. Consistent. On-Time.
- Outstanding listening skills.
- Team player who works well with others. Respectful.
- Able to work some Saturdays.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Bilingual English and Spanish fluency preferred.
- High school or equivalent preferred.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Work is performed on the road, in a warehouse environment, and on many types of residential and commercial job sites during traditional retail business hours. Physical requirements include:
- Lifting heavy products and boxes.
- Extended periods of time sitting, driving, standing, and walking.
- Speaking and understanding others in person and by mobile phone.
