What are the responsibilities and job description for the ReFresh Spot Safety Specialist position at HOMELESS HEALTH CARE LOS ANGELES?
The Safety Specialist works under the direction of the Safety Lead and is part of a multidisciplinary team of subcontractors, mental health professionals, community ambassadors, and other providers at the 24/7 hygiene center “ReFresh Spot” in Skid Row. The Safety Specialist works to improve the overall health and well-being of people experiencing homelessness by assisting with coordinating linkages to medical care, mental health care, substance use treatment, housing/shelter resources, and other supportive services. This position requires weekend and possible evening hours, for a total of 37.5 hours per week. Principal roles include de-escalating situations (as needed), monitoring a check-in system for guest belongings, taking a lead role in the Safe Passage Program, and other duties as assigned.
