Innovative Electrical Design/Project Engineer Opportunity
We are seeking an Advanced Electrical Design/Project Engineer to develop innovative electrical designs for solid-state exterior aircraft lighting systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in high power LEDs, switch mode power supply topologies, and microprocessor controls.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop robust and reliable designs that meet cost and schedule targets, with a focus on manufacturability and maintainability by major aircraft operators.
· Conduct electrical design and analyses using simulations and prototyping to support design approach and proposed product specifications.
· Prepare customer-required electrical data items, such as FMEA, derating analyses, and circuit tolerance analyses.
· Direct the production of prototypes and mock-ups, and conduct verification/margin testing to validate design concepts.
· Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to optimize time and resource utilization.
· Support supplier selection and interface with customers regarding electrical requirements and specifications.
· Assist with cost estimates of components and systems.
· Work across multiple product lines, including aircraft interior, exterior, and electro-mechanical lighting products.
U.S. Person Requirements
Candidates must be U.S. Persons, defined as U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with protected status under asylum or refugee status.
Mandatory Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
· Minimum 5 years' experience in Solid State Lighting and/or Electrical Power Supply design.
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with Switch-Mode Power Supply design, linear, and microcontroller interfacing.
· Proficiency in Mentor Graphics PB design software.
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong team participation and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to take responsibility for tasks/projects and execute plans of action.
· Aerospace Exterior Environment design experience is a plus.
