What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Technician position at honeywell?
As a Wastewater Treatment Specialist here at Honeywell, you will be tasked to maintain compliance with various regulatory agencies’ regulations and be a critical part of the Facilities team. You will work with our HSE team to ensure that our facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health, and security standards.
You will report directly to our HSE Manager and work 100% onsite at our Phoenix, AZ location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials, chemicals, and microorganisms from wastewater
- Run tests to make sure that the processes are working correctly
- Keep records of water quality and other indicators
- Monitor the indicators at the plants and adjust as necessary
- Read meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment is working properly
- Take samples and run tests to determine the quality of the water being produced
- Run samples taken from tanks to determine waste stream
- Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes
- Keep records that document compliance.
- Root cause investigations
- HSE inspections
- Accurate reporting for compliance documentation to the City of Phoenix and other regulatory agencies
- Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems
- Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as chrome, being added to the water
- Fix chemical leaks
- Be comfortable working around chemicals
- Taking liquid and solid samples and performing routine laboratory tests
- Interacting with the factory and other customers and stakeholders
- Written and verbal communication skills required
- Organization and time management skills
- Role modeling safety
- Excel as an individual contributor and part of a team and work effectively across multiple facilities operations disciplines
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, must be generally available to respond to emergency "call-outs" at any time of day, year-round
- Occasional weekends (on rotation)
