Wastewater System Management:
Oversee the entire wastewater treatment process, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of all system components.
Manage wastewater collection operations, ensuring effective screening to remove large solids such as bottle caps and labels.
Coordinate equalization efforts to ensure consistent flow and quality of wastewater entering the treatment system.
Supervise biological treatment using MBBR’s (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors) to break down contaminants.
Ensure proper disposal or reuse of treated wastewater in compliance with EPCOR, industry standards and environmental regulations.
Manage the inventory of the required chemicals and lab supplies.
Ensure function and calibration of all relevant sensors in the system and in the lab.
Team Management:
Lead and supervise both salaried and hourly technicians, providing direction and support for daily operations.
Develop and maintain training programs for technicians to ensure high levels of competency in wastewater treatment processes and safety protocols.
Monitor technician performance, conduct performance evaluations, and manage staffing schedules.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure all wastewater treatment activities meet EPCOR, local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Prepare and submit required reports, including performance data, environmental compliance reports, and maintenance logs.
Develop and maintain strong communication with EPCOR, regulatory agencies and their representatives
Conduct regular inspections and audits of wastewater operations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and reduce costs.
Troubleshoot any issues with the wastewater treatment system, including equipment failure or operational disruptions.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address complex technical issues and perform corrective actions.
Partner with external supplier and consultants to evaluate current processes and consider opportunities for improved treatment measures.
Refine SOPs and develop decision trees to handle upsets in the system.
Safety & Sustainability:
Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. ·
Drive sustainability initiatives related to water usage, wastewater treatment, and reuse, working towards reducing environmental impact.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR TO JOIN OUR FAMILY?
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
Certifications in wastewater treatment or environmental management (e.g., Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial wastewater management, preferably in a beverage manufacturing setting.
Proven experience managing teams of technicians and handling operations in a wastewater facility.
Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, including screening, equalization, and biological treatment methods (e.g., MBBR)
Strong knowledge and experience in laboratory sampling practices, including microscopic classification of bacteria activity.
Skilled at communicating and escalating system disruptions and updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to wastewater treatment and disposal.
Expertise in water sampling techniques, including TDS, TSS, BOD/COD analysis, and biological evaluations using microscopy.
Proficiency in data analysis, process optimization, and reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to machinery, chemicals, and wastewater systems.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs. and go up and down ladders as needed.
